At the time I toured Graceland in 2003, we were told this was the bed of Elvis, on display in one of the other buildings on the site rather than in the actual bedroom of the mansion, which was not part of the tour at that time. Shag and a stereo built in aren’t bad ideas even now. Your guess is as good as mine whether the shirt on the bed belonged to Elvis, the tour staff, or a tourist (what happens in Memphis stays in Memphis). I’m not sure what curators were thinking there. On the anniversary of his death this, “Creepy Elvis Monkey” and “Vernon’s Office” are all appropriate. Shoot photos, not each other!
