Helianthus Annuus

Better known as the common sunflower, this was growing by a stop sign in our neighborhood on a day that was extraordinarily hot and desert-like, with a great deal of sweltering humidity to go with it. I took the Nikon D7000 for a spin sporting the AF-S Micro Nikkor 105mm lens. Weighing in at over 2 pounds by itself, it hardly lives up to the “micro” in its name. The results of a true 1:1 magnification macro lens are astonishing. Shoot photos not each other!
