A couple of years after eye surgery, I still keep saying I don’t want to shoot any more black and white and I just want to do color. After two years of that, I found a rare opportunity where black and white was the only thing that really worked. This is actually the back side of a gas-powered air compressor. The color was a bright blue and even at really low saturation, it just was not pleasing to me. I felt like being black and white made it a much more artistically interesting image. I love how I had the camera just slow enough to get the fan blurry, while everything else is still. Shoot photos, not each other!
